About Urban 6.5 Hybrid Flooring
Urban 6.5 is a rigid hybrid floor with an SPC core, a printed timber-look surface and a 0.55mm wear layer. At 6.5mm thick, including a 1.5mm underlay attached to each plank, it’s just a little thicker than Elite 6.0 and still slim enough for renovations, apartments and rentals. It sits alongside our other hybrid flooring ranges.
What sets Urban apart is its two plank widths. The oak-look colours come in wide 229mm planks, and the Australian timber looks come in narrower 180mm planks. All planks are 1511mm long and click together as a floating floor. Because it’s a hybrid, the core is built to cope with moisture, so Urban is a popular choice for kitchens and laundries.

Why choose it
Urban 6.5 Features and Benefits
Here’s what Urban 6.5 gives you, and what to keep in mind.
A slim 6.5mm profile
Urban 6.5 is 6.5mm thick, including its attached underlay, so it keeps floor height down in renovations and apartments.
Attached underlay
A 1.5mm IXPE underlay is built into each plank. It adds comfort underfoot and helps with sound, and it saves a step on the job.
A waterproof core
The manufacturer describes Urban as waterproof, with a rigid SPC core that doesn’t swell like fibreboard. We still check the edges, wall gaps and subfloor for wet areas.
A tough surface
A 0.55mm wear layer with a UV coating helps the surface resist everyday scuffs and scratches.
Two plank widths
The oak-look colours come in wide 229mm planks, and the Australian timber looks in narrower 180mm planks, so you can choose the board width that suits your room.
Click-together installation
Urban is a floating floor, with planks that click together. It’s usually quicker and cleaner than gluing a floor down.

Questions we get asked
Urban 6.5 FAQs
Is Urban 6.5 waterproof?
The manufacturer describes Urban as waterproof, thanks to its rigid SPC core. The edges, the gap at the walls and the subfloor still matter, so ask us about the room you have in mind and we’ll check the specification and your site first.
How thick is Urban 6.5?
Urban 6.5 is 6.5mm thick, and that includes the 1.5mm underlay attached to the back of each plank. That makes it slightly thicker than Elite 6.0, and still slim enough for renovations and apartments.
What plank sizes does Urban 6.5 come in?
The oak-look colours are 1511 x 229mm. The Australian timber looks are narrower, at 1511 x 180mm. Every plank has the same 6.5mm thickness.
Do I need underlay with Urban 6.5?
Each plank has an underlay attached, so most jobs don’t need a separate one. Some subfloors, such as a concrete slab, may need extra protection. We’ll advise when we check your site.
Can Urban 6.5 go over my existing floor?
Often, yes. It can be laid over many surfaces, including timber, tiles, plywood and concrete, provided they are clean, level, smooth and dry, without large cracks. We check the subfloor before we quote.
Is Urban 6.5 suitable for kitchens and laundries?
It’s a popular choice for both, because the core is built to cope with moisture. As with any floor, wipe up spills promptly. We check the specification and your site before we recommend it for a wet area.
What warranty comes with Urban 6.5?
The supplier offers 25 years for residential use and 5 years for commercial use, subject to the warranty terms. Ask us for the full terms when you choose your colour.
