Choosing your floor
A good place to start.
How do I choose between timber, hybrid, laminate, vinyl and carpet?
Start with the room, the look and feel you want, your budget and how you use the space. Timber offers a real timber surface; hybrid, laminate and vinyl offer different constructions and finishes; carpet adds a soft textile surface. Tell us about foot traffic, pets, moisture exposure and any building requirements so we can narrow the options with you.
Can the same flooring run through every room?
Possibly, but suitability needs to be checked room by room. Wet areas, stairs, direct sunlight, changes in subfloor and required expansion joints can affect the design. Share your floor plan before choosing a whole-home finish.
Which flooring should I choose for children or pets?
Discuss everyday spills, claws, cleaning and comfort with us. Compare the selected product’s surface performance and care requirements. Scratch resistance does not mean scratch-proof, and no floor should be chosen on that claim alone.
Will my new flooring match the colour on the website?
Screens, lighting and photography can change how a colour looks. Timber grain and other finishes can also vary. Ask about viewing a physical sample of your shortlisted product in your space before ordering.
Can you help with commercial flooring?
Yes. Share the type of premises, expected use and any project specifications. We can discuss options for offices, hospitality, hotels, education and retail. Commercial suitability and any slip, fire or acoustic requirements must be checked against the selected product’s documentation.
Timber flooring
Natural character, considered details.
What are the specifications of the timber range shown?
The supplied range lists 15 mm total thickness, a 4 mm wear layer and 2200 × 220 mm planks. Each box contains four planks with a stated coverage of 1.936 m². These figures apply to this range, not every timber floor.
How can this timber flooring be installed?
The supplied specification lists floated or direct-stick installation. The right method depends on the selected product’s instructions, the subfloor and site conditions. Preparation and any underlay or adhesive should be included in the installation assessment.
Can I sand or refinish the timber floor later?
The listed 4 mm wear layer is useful information, but it is not a promise of a particular number of refinishes. The manufacturer’s guidance, previous sanding and the floor’s condition must be assessed before any refinishing work.
Is the timber range available immediately, and what warranty applies?
The supplied range is listed as indent, so confirm availability and lead time before scheduling work. Its specification lists a 25-year residential warranty and a 5-year commercial warranty marked with an asterisk. Request the complete terms, commercial conditions and exclusions before ordering.
Hybrid flooring
Understand the layers beneath the look.
What is included in the hybrid flooring specification?
The supplied range has 228 × 1220 mm planks, 6 mm total thickness, a 0.50 mm wear layer, quartz-enhanced PUR coating, Liteback backing and a 5G locking system. The stated pack size is 10 planks covering 2.78 m².
Does a waterproof surface mean hybrid can go in any wet area?
No. The supplied sheet describes a waterproof surface with a qualification mark. This does not establish that a complete installation is waterproof or suitable for every bathroom or other wet area. Confirm the exact product’s installation instructions, exclusions and site requirements first.
Does hybrid need additional underlay?
This range already lists Liteback backing. Do not assume another layer is needed: the permitted underlay and subfloor system must follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Ask us to check the proposed installation before buying extra underlay.
Can this hybrid be used over heating or in commercial spaces?
The supplied sheet lists suitability for water-based subfloor heating, P4 slip resistance and 25-year residential / 10-year commercial warranties. Heating limits, commercial uses and warranty conditions still need to be confirmed for your project.
Laminate flooring
The look you love, with the details clear.
What are the specifications of the laminate range?
The supplied range lists 193 × 1213 mm planks, 8 mm thickness, AC4 Commercial wear class, SureCore™ core, Atroguard® surface treatment and a clear enhanced UV-cured wear-layer treatment. It has pressed bevel edges and an Angle Tap click system.
Does the laminate’s Tap seal make it waterproof?
The supplied sheet describes Tap seal as double wax applied to the board joints to repel water that may enter. It does not specify unlimited water exposure or establish suitability for every wet area. Follow the product’s spill, cleaning and installation instructions.
How much laminate is in a box?
The supplied sheet lists 14 planks per box and 3.276 m² of coverage. Ask us to confirm the ordering coverage for your selected product before calculating quantities. Allowances for cuts and the room layout should be assessed separately.
What heating compatibility and warranty are listed?
The specification lists water-based underfloor heating suitability, P2 slip resistance, a lifetime residential warranty and a 12-year light commercial warranty. “Lifetime” and “light commercial” are defined by the warranty terms; request those terms and the heating instructions before purchase.
Vinyl sheet flooring
One range, many ways to finish a room.
How is vinyl sheet different from vinyl planks?
Vinyl sheet is supplied in a sheet format, while vinyl planks are individual pieces. Their installation methods and specifications differ. The technical details on our Vinyl Sheet Flooring page apply to the sheet range; ask us separately about vinyl plank options and availability.
What are the specifications of the vinyl sheet range?
The supplied sheet lists 2.8 mm total thickness, 4 m width, a 0.4 mm wear layer, R10 slip resistance and a 15-year residential warranty. Confirm the complete warranty and application requirements for your chosen design.
Can the vinyl sheet be loose laid?
The supplied specification states loose lay up to 35 m². This is a stated limit, not approval for every room under that size. Room shape, subfloor, joins and manufacturer instructions still determine the installation method.
Will vinyl sheet have joins or repeating patterns?
A 4 m sheet width does not guarantee a join-free result. Room dimensions and layout determine whether joins are needed. Designs also have their own pattern repeats, which can affect placement and material allowance.
Is the vinyl sheet suitable for underfloor heating?
The supplied sheet says it is suitable for underfloor heating but does not give system types or temperature limits. Have the heating system checked against the complete product instructions before installation.
Carpets & rugs
Find your kind of comfort.
Which carpet types do you offer?
Our carpet categories include nylon, wool, polyester, needlepunch and woven carpets. Share whether the space is residential or commercial and the feel, finish and budget you have in mind so we can discuss appropriate ranges.
How do nylon, wool and polyester carpets compare?
These names describe fibre choices. The fibre is only one part of the decision: pile style, construction, backing, product rating and care instructions also matter. Compare actual shortlisted products for your room rather than assuming every carpet in one fibre category performs the same way.
What should I know about needlepunch and woven carpets?
Needlepunch and woven describe construction types, rather than a single fibre or performance rating. Ask about the specific range’s intended use, available designs, backing and installation requirements. We can help match the product to your project brief.
How do I choose carpet for stairs or busy areas?
Tell us exactly where it will be fitted. Confirm that the selected carpet is rated for the intended use, including stairs where relevant, and check the recommended underlay and installation method. Do not assume every carpet in a range has the same suitability.
Can I enquire about rugs?
Yes. Tell us your preferred size, colour, placement and budget. We will confirm the available options and any lead time. A rug enquiry does not assume custom sizing or binding is available for every carpet range.
Carpet tiles
Flexible formats for your project.
Which carpet tile collections are shown?
Our Carpet Tiles page features Impasto, Terra, Terra Hue, Pigment, Reverie, Braid, Thread and Static. Ask us to confirm current colours, availability and the technical specification of your shortlisted collection.
Can an individual carpet tile be replaced?
Individual replacement may be possible, depending on the product and installation system. Retaining spare tiles from the original order can help, although wear and differences between batches may affect the appearance of a replacement.
Can carpet tiles be mixed or laid in different directions?
Some products offer layout options, but follow the selected collection’s approved installation patterns and directional markings. Confirm compatibility before mixing collections, sizes or backings.
Are all carpet tiles suitable for offices and other commercial spaces?
Suitability must be established for the selected collection and the intended use. Share traffic levels and requirements such as castor-chair use, acoustics, slip or fire performance. We have not published a universal technical rating for these collections.
Underlays & preparation
A good finish starts underneath.
Why should I discuss underlay when choosing carpet?
Underlay is part of the complete carpet installation. Its type must suit the carpet, the intended use and the manufacturer’s requirements. Include it in the quote rather than choosing it separately on thickness alone.
Can my existing underlay or flooring stay in place?
That requires an assessment. Condition, moisture, cleanliness, levels, compatibility and the selected product’s instructions determine what can remain. Reusing an existing layer should not be assumed when estimating the project.
Do you offer floor preparation and carpet repairs?
Yes. Tell us about uneven areas, existing coverings or carpet damage and include photographs where possible. Photos help start the conversation; inspection may still be needed to establish suitable preparation or repairs.
Installation, care & warranties
Plan the practical details.
How long will installation take, and what should I prepare?
Timing depends on the floor area, product, preparation, access and any staged work. Ask for a project-specific schedule, including any product conditioning or waiting periods. Confirm furniture moves, old-floor removal and access arrangements before work begins.
How should I clean my new floor?
Follow the care guide for the exact product, including approved tools and cleaning solutions. Do not assume a steam cleaner, wet mop or the same treatment is suitable for every floor. Ask for the product’s care instructions at handover.
Does a product warranty cover installation too?
Do not assume it does. Product and installation terms can cover different things. Request the written scope of each, keep your purchase and installation records, and follow the product’s maintenance instructions. The headline periods on product pages are summaries of the supplied specifications.
What should I do if I notice damage or a problem?
Contact us with your name, product details, purchase or quote reference, photographs and a description of when the issue appeared. Avoid attempting a repair before the appropriate next step has been discussed.
Quotes & next steps
From a question to a clearer plan.
What information should I include in a quote request?
Include your contact details, project location, residential or commercial use, preferred flooring, approximate area, current floor condition and ideal timing. Photos or a floor plan can help when discussing the project. Note any stairs, access restrictions or specific performance requirements.
How much extra flooring should I order?
There is no single allowance that suits every project. Room shape, laying direction, pattern matching, cutting and pack or roll sizes affect the quantity. Provide measurements and a layout so the ordering allowance can be assessed.
Does submitting the form confirm a price or booking?
No. A quote request starts a conversation so the team can review your requirements. Any acknowledgement email confirms receipt; it is not a quotation, order confirmation or installation booking.
How can I ask a question without requesting a quote?
